Description
perform tests and provide technical support to Construction Managers, Architects and Engineering Professionals in research, design, construction, operation and maintenance of equipment, distribution systems and installations, and resource estimation and site inspection. This unit group covers Building and Engineering Technicians not elsewhere classified.
Tasks
There are no specific tasks for Unit Group 3129, however, Minor Group 312 includes:
- preparing, interpreting, inspecting and revising drawings, plans, diagrams, designs, maps and charts
- performing complex computations and field and laboratory tests, and recording the results
- installing, testing, repairing and modifying electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment
- estimating quantities and costs of materials
- inspecting buildings, plumbing work, machines, equipment, working conditions and public places to ensure compliance with relevant laws, standards and regulations
- planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring maintenance of plant equipment
- testing materials
- overseeing the safety of mining operations and supervising Miners
Skill Level
Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
