The NSW Government has opened its 2026–27 Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) nomination program, with the first invitation round expected during the week commencing 19 October 2026.
The updated NSW Skills List is now available, outlining the occupations being targeted to address skills needs across the state. To be considered, applicants must have a valid skills assessment in an eligible occupation that falls within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the list, as well as meet the relevant visa and NSW nomination requirements.
NSW nomination is competitive, and applicants cannot apply directly. You must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and be invited by NSW. If invited, you’ll have just 14 days to apply and provide valid evidence supporting the claims in your EOI.
Applicants should ensure their EOI is accurate and up to date, and avoid relying solely on a potential NSW invitation when planning their migration pathway.
Meanwhile, NSW subclass 491 nomination applications remain closed to new applicants across all pathways until further notice.
