The Victorian Government has officially opened its 2025–26 Skilled Migration Program, creating new opportunities for skilled workers to build their future in Australia.

Program Allocation

For this program year, the Department of Home Affairs has provided Victoria with a small interim allocation:

  • 200 places for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

  • 180 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491)

The full program allocation for 2025–26 is expected to be released by the Department of Home Affairs in the coming weeks. We will share updates as they come.

Existing Registrations of Interest (ROI)

If you currently hold an active Registration of Interest, it will remain valid for consideration in the 2025–26 program. A new ROI is only required if your personal details or circumstances have changed.

How to Apply for Victorian Nomination

To be considered, you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and obtain a score of at least 65 points including State Nomination points. Victoria has additional requirements for location of the applicant and employment, so it is important to check these before submitting a ROI.

The Victorian government will then assess the ROIs and issue an invitation to apply for Nomination, where your claims will be verified. If this step is successful, an invitation to apply for the 190 or 491 visa will be sent through the SkillSelect system.

This program is a key opportunity for skilled professionals to settle in Victoria and contribute to the state’s workforce needs.
