SkillSelect Round
Immigration advises the next SkillSelect invitation round for Subclass 189 and 491 Family Sponsored visas has been scheduled for May 2026, so now is the time to confirm that your EOI is up to date.
Key information to check:
Skills Assessment is still valid – note the majority expire 3 years after the date of issue, except for ACS, ANMAC, and AITSL which are only valid for 2 years
English language test is still valid – Results will expire 3 years after the date of the test, not the date the results were issued
Partner skills and English are still valid – validity periods as above
Partner points – if your relationship status has changed
Employment history is up to date – A change of employment could affect your points score
Most importantly, you should ensure that you have the documents to support all of your claims, including reference letters, payslips, relationship evidence, qualification certificates and transcripts.
If an invitation is issued against an EOI with incorrect or out of date information, you may not be able to lodge a successful Visa application.
Final Round
Note this is the last SkillSelect round for the 2025-26 financial year, so no further 189 or 491 Family Sponsored invitations will be issued until after 1 July 2026.
