This visa aims to draw individuals with remarkable skills in targeted fields to drive growth, pioneer groundbreaking projects, and enhance Australia’s knowledge economy.
Requirements For The Global Talent Visa
Global Talent Stream
To be considered for a Global Talent visa, applicants must be able to demonstrate an internationally acclaimed track record of exceptional achievements in one of the following key target sectors:
- Resources
- Agri-food and AgTech
- Energy
- Health
- Financial Services and FinTech
- Defence, Advanced Manufacturing and Space
- Circular Economy
- DigiTech
- Infrastructure and Tourism
- Education
In support of the application, nomination by an eligible organization or individual in Australia who holds recognized expertise in the respective field is required.
Applicants should also be able to show potential annual earnings equivalent to the Fair Work High Income Threshold, which for the 2024-2025 financial year is $175,000 per annum.
There is no age limit for this visa, however, applicants over the age of 55 years must demonstrate that they would be an exceptional benefit to the Australian community.
Applicants must evidence at least Functional level English.
The first step in the process is to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) for assessment. If successful, applicants will receive a unique reference identifier and code required to make a visa application under the Global Talent program.
Distinguished Talent
This stream is available for extremely talented applicants who have an internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievements working in sectors other than a target-defined sector, for either a profession, sport, the arts, or academia and research. An expression of Interest is not required for this pathway.
